I am going to replace the exhaust systems on the Burb and the K5.
I have the headers and mufflers picked out but after searching for 2 days I cannot find a decent dual exhaust kit
I was looking at the dyno max stuff at Summit and their dual kit looks realy cheesy.
And the rest of the stuff I seen was for newer vehicles.
Just a simple kit that goes from the header to the rear of the rig is all I am looking for.
Not like the Dynomax though that did not have any bends to clear stuff and right after the collecters it looked like it had some sort of flex tube.

I put a Dynomax kit on the wifes "79 Sub from Jegs.It went in pretty easy and sounds good.Nice rumble. It comes out the side behind the rear wheels.I had no problems and was cheaper then when I had a shop do my Blazer.Blazin

I tried going to the Dynomax site but it won't load their catalog.
They have to have a better selecection than that one.

Go to www.jegs.com I used PN 289-89004 and 2 super turbo mufflers PN.289-17731.It has bends in it and goes over the crossmember that supports the trans and t-case.I also used the dynomax standard series headers.Have had no problems and they don't interfere with the plugs so they are easier to change.Between the header kit and the exhaust kit I had everything I needed. If you don't weld the pipes you will need a few clamps.I welded mine.Have no leaks.Blazin:rasta:

Ron, why not have the exhaust done at a shop? They do a better job of exact fitting the contours of your truck.............and since you're not a stocker the custom one will tuck up better than a generic one. Plus unless you weld you're gonna be stuck with clamps..............:)

I'll call around tomorrow and see, but I had thought that unless you have cats to go with it that they will not do it.

This is why I went with the aftermarket duals. No one around here would put duals on because it had a cat.And the cat was bad so it would have cost atleast $500 for a single exhaust with a new cat!My blazer is old enough that I had a shop do duals. It cost me $300.And now I don't like where it exists so I need to change it.Blazin

I know what ya mean, and had to get a shop to replace my cat, and install new muffler and pipe, but just went with a 3 incher out the driver side behind the rear tire. After explaining my side of what I wanted, he drove the K5 around back and wouldn't let me near the bay. So when done I walk around to look at the tip and the @$$ had put on a stove pipe sized crome extension on the end about a foot past the fender  I didn't have to say "cut it off" cause "fawk, fawk, fawk" was enough with me pounding on the back of the Blazer prolly helped... :D

I used a kit from JC Whitney. I think Heartthrob is the brand name. It was around $120. They have it on "sale" most of the time. It worked real well. I used Flowtech afterburner mufflers and bought some straight sections of pipe from summit to run them out the back so the exhaust wouldn't hit the shackle flip. My Burb has barn doors so I don't have to worry about fumes coming in through the back window. My brother used the same brand kit on his Blazer, except he kept the std exit.
