I have not been able to find pics of a rig like this (1/4 ellip) a COMP rig if you will.
I keep looking thru the mod stock rules (WE Rock) and do not see why this cannot be done.
Is the extreme rear steer a killer?
Or am I missing something?

Buggy leaves and 1/4 eliptic are two different animals and the rear steer is caused by your link geometry (or lack there of).

Regardless, Mod Stock does not limit your suspension method, only your wheelbase, tire size and body panels.

Thanks, I always thought "Buggy leaves" and 1/4 elliptical were one and the same.

Anyways, I got this from the WErock web site under mod stock

4.19: Suspension

The following are suspension guidelines for competition:
4.19.1: Reactive suspension systems are approved.
4.19.2: Manual suspension controls are not approved in this class, except for the use of a front or rear winching devise.
4.19.3: Suspension pivot points, connecting points must be free of cracks and in good physical condition as determined by a W.E.Rock official.
4.19.4: OEM wheelbase measurements may be altered plus or minus 3”. Wheelbase may not be changed during or between obstacles. This will be measured at tech with all tension off of winches and suspension relaxed.

and had thought I'd see something along the lines of "OE coil suspensions must be coils, leaf springs -leaf" etc

This must be Known or implied then?

You dont need buggy leafs to win in stock mod. The only suspension mod Jeff mellow has is frenched in rear spring hangers, he still has the shackles up front too. :p

I dont think it has to be if it came with......it has to have .......... Jody Everding doesnt have leafs in front of his CJ anymore. Slumpy has coilovers in the front of his TJ. This was last year calrocs donner event though.

Thanks-I was not trying to imply that buggy leafs are "the shit"
I have just about enough "extra" unused/unneeded parts to throw another rig together, and was thinking mod stock would be closest to utilize what I have (minus tires and wheels)
Having seen buggy leaf rigs (non comp) in action, I was thinking it would be cool to try and build one, and give it a try.

But it looks like my plans are way off base.Thanks.
