I think I have finally come to terms with what my future and final plans are for my Jeep. I have a 3.5" BDS lift that I like and I do not envision going bigger than 33" tires. I am staying SUA. I would like to keep the Jeep more of a driver than a trail rig. That being said, here goes:

1) I want to get rid of the stock tranny skid and get a flat belly up skid. THis should net me about 4" of additional ground clearance from what I have because of the tranny drop kit.

2) I will be gettin a SYE kit.

3) This is my dilemma. With the flush mounted tranny skid and 3.5" lift SUA, can I get away with a 8.8 or standard 44? Does anyone have a setup like this? Or is a HP rear axle my best option? I know the HP rear is my best option but a HP 9" from Currie is gonna run about $2900 for me. How bad will my vibes be if I get a 8.8 or standard 44?

Thanks for any input or experience you can throw at me.

"do not envision going bigger than 33" tires"
Yea right thats what they all say untill the big tire tire bug bites you. Quit fooling your self and build it right the first time or you will be doing two build ups.

Ive had my lift and 33s for 2.5 years. For my tastes, I did it right the first time.

With the SYE and a CV shaft you shouldn't have any problems with drive line vibration. I have a SOA YJ (~5.5" lift) and I get no noticable vibs out of my CV shaft. Your DL angle will be less than mine, so I say go for it. Oh, and do yourself a favor and get the heavy duty SYE, not one of those hack and tap jobbers.
