I am posting for 3 link xj as his computer is in pieces

After going wheeling this afternoon, he started to notice the motor stumble :barf: under light throttle between 1000 and 2000 RPM in any gear. It is a 210K mile 91 XJ w/ the 5 speed and 4.0 HO motor. The motor is stock and I really don't think we wheeled it hard enough to damage anything.

Do any of you all have any ideas as to what this could be? He will have to describe it better when he puts his computer back together.:rolleyes:

If you wheeled in any mud/water I'd take a look at the air filter. I've seen clogged filters cause hell with an engine.

If that checks out, look at the ignition system. Then maybe the fuel system. I can maybe help more with more specific info :confused: just a few ideas I'm throwing out right now
