Does anyone know of a stock application for a D60 that used 2.75 axle tubes? Searching hasn't got me very far ...

Maybe an older 3/4 ton. The 3 1/8" tube diffs are a lot easier to come by (arround here anyways) Why do you want a small one???

Don't necessarily want the small tubes. I"m looking at a 'mystery' axle with D60 low pinion center chunk and 2.75 axle tubes (2002 mfg date) and trying to figure out what application it came from and if that size tubes would be up to 37" - 40" tires on a YJ.

more info on the axle may help... though I'm sure someone probably knows the answer off the top of there head

Don't think that you will overload a 60 with an YJ unless you plan on doing big air. The axle is a full floater right?

Not much more info...you can find them on ebay right now. It's just the center section and tubes, no shafts or outers. Comes up blank every way I can search on the dana expert sight. Seems like they are some sort of special set up for testing lubricants. 56" from end of tube flange to end of flange. Approx 40" between perches.

Since I'm thinking about going custom width anyhow, was wondering if this would be a good start.

I doubt very much that the manufacture date is 2002 maybe a 72. I have seen a few of the housings with the small tube and they seem to have come out of the early pickups but I cannot remember which manufacturer. Do you have a BOM number?

Mine's a 2.75" tube. Don't know what Tri-County Gear used as a source though.

I had a 2002 or so Dana 60 front housing and the tubes were't no where near 2.75", they were more like 3 1/2".

It is 2002 mfg. I think these may be specials and not common pickup application. NOt sure that I'm going to be able to ID, even given that, would this be a good place to start a custom axle from and about how much would they be worth?

Looked them over and there is not the typical BOM marked on the axle tubes. For that matter, the axle tubes are just pressed into the house (yep, not welded). These have never been installed in anything. I'm looking at them as a start point for a custom setup.

Here are the ID numbers...can't match them up with anything normal
