Some of yall have some pretty sweet driveways. I've seen rock ledge driveways, I've seen dirt mound driveways, I've seen grass field driveways, and even a few rock crawl driveways.

I'm not one of those lucky ones, here is my driveway.

Kept the steering box in the stock location. I'll probably rotate it up that way I can move the tie rod up to the steer arms. Ended up getting a few inches up front and about 6" in the rear so its sitting right about 107-108".

You got more than a little up front if you only got 6" in the rear if you are at 107-108"... Stock wheelbase is 93.4"..

Jeep looks good by the way :grinpimp:

Traded huh? I've done a little trading too... :D

Built up this and LOVED it, but the kids complained about not having enough room in the back seat...

http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh251/chrisja77/Jeep%20Misc%20Pics/012-1.jpg

So I traded it for this:

http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh251/chrisja77/4runner/P1705090006.jpg

Had big plans for an SAS and 37's, but the kids and wife decided they didn't like it because it didn't say JEEP on it so it had to go. Ended up with this:

http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh251/chrisja77/Jeep%20Misc%20Pics/001-9.jpg

This one is NOT a driveway shot, but who gives a shit!

http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh251/chrisja77/Jeep%20Misc%20Pics/015.jpg

The wife wouldn't let me keep my new hood ornament or let me spend thousands of dollars to do to the jeep what I knew had to be done to it, so I made an executive decision and traded it off without the family knowing for something that made me happy. Screw them, they will learn to love the new heep!:smokin:

I am using a spacer/ adaptor for the wheel. I probably wouldn't have gotten 15" wheels or used an adaptor for the rear had I not gotten such a great deal on the wheels. I also like the fact that tires for 15" wheels are so much cheaper than 17 but I Fng hate the fact that there are so little tire companys out there that make tires for 15" wheels anymore. I mean why can't BFG or Goodyear make a 37 12.5 15 anymore?????????? I'm planning on getting 37 Pitbull Rocker Radials next.

UCTJ
11-12-2010, 08:58 AM
I went with 15" Allied Rockmonsters got a killer price from Trent Fab. I was having a hard time going to the 17" because it was going to cost me about 100 bucks more per wheel and about 100 bucks per tire! Thats $800 bucks which is only about 100-130 bucks shy of what I paid for my beadlocks. I too run spacers I can swap out my rear axles bolt pattern to 5x5.5 not the front until I swap axles.
Heres a driveway shot from today. I just swapped out my stock t-case skid for an Undercover Fab Ultra high Clearance. I gained about 1 1/2-2 inches over the old one. Old on top, new on bottom.

For now I'm running a Wagoneer D44/20 combo. The wheel base is ~ 100". Front is moved forward about 4" with a XJ rear main leaf with a mixed pack. The rear is pushed back 2" using a Wagoneer front main leaf with the rest mixed. It works really well! The tires are 37x13.50 Pitbulls.

I wasn't aware of a Chris Durham Hood at the time. I've been running it now for over 3 years and love it! It allowed the most clearance to keep a low CG.. there wern't many high line kits available then, but I would still go with this hood today if I had to do it all over again. It VERY strong & doens't have any flex in it going down the highway which I can do at 90mph & even rolled on it!!!

My original plan was for the inner fender wells be temporary untill I could make some out of aluminum... but it's worked out so well I've left them. Their actually a thick guage rubber lining that is used behind bath tubes to keep everything dry from any leaks, I got a grommet kit and made it work.
This is how it looks stock with the hood...

the hood was $450-, shipping was around $175!!! & the paint & prep. was another $400-, but the benefits off sets it's cost and keeps you from running

Daughter just turned 16 so, we got her this 1999 XJ Sport. Immediately ordered and then installed a 3" lift kit and swapped out the stock wheels/tires for some stock TJ wheels and 31x10.50 tires. Should be a good first vehicle for her.

Planning to do Savvy's UA, GenRight's EXT tank, and either GenRight or PP's 3-link front/4-link rear with stretch and coilovers. I'm not going full hydro, so hopefully after my wallet heals and I convince my fiance why I needed all this **** I can do a front stretch with TNT custom's kit.
