This weekend my Dad and I picked up a Cub Cadet Garden tractor. While there we were offered a Century 130 MIG welder for 150 bucks, so we got that too. The problem is it came with no manuals. I have spent the last hour or so searching here and the web looking for a source for info on these welders and all I can find is that Century built welders for Snap-on and someone else saying Century's were built by Lincoln. I have found links to the company that made Centurys, but it seems there site is gone. Does anyone have any info on where I could get a manual, or who sells/sold them so I may contact them for info?

Thanks!

I know my dad's Craftsman 90amp mig is made by Century. Maybe look at an equivalent Sears model if there is one?

Since I moved recently I can't put my hand on my owners manual real easy. It is a great welder. I believe it was the entry level of Lincoln and also sold under other names (rebadging,Snap-on,Solar). On the front there is a high/low setting. The high is if it is plugged into a 20amp circuit and the low is for 15amp circuits. Wire speed and heat are self explanatory. I use my with gas. .023 wire works great and I have no trouble welding upto 1/4" on clean metal. Have beaten and abused my welds and they have held great. If I can find my manual I can run of a copy for you. As for who to cantact I am not sure. Supposedly a company called Solar is who owns the name now. Here is alink for a company who advertises a CD with all the manuals on it. I don't have any experience with them. http://www.brwelder.com/indextemplate.cfm?file=shop/detail.cfm&ID=1080&SubCategory=41
Might also try http://www.centcan.com/
If you have any luck please post it. Good luck.akraven

I just got a Northern Tool catalog and they had a whole series of Century welders in there. Perhaps they could help?

I have an old 85amp Century welder and was recently looking for some information on them. Lincoln bought them out, but it is hard to find anything on the web about service or support for them.

A big thanks to everyone for the replies. I will follow up on a few of the leads listed above and if I get anywhere I'll post back. Now I have to ask myself why I didn't check my Northern Catalog?? :D

Yep, last year most of Sears' Craftsman welders were Hobart, this year they're Century. If you can get your hands on a Craftsman owner's manual it's gotta be similar.

I bought a Century 120 volt wire feed welder (forgot the amps) for about $150 back in 1993. The thing worked *ok*, but I hated the gun because the tip was always hot! I ended up giving it away after I bought my little Lincoln and never felt better.

Well, it hasn't worked yet. They were suppose to email me the manual last week, but as of today, no dice! I am going to give them a try tomorrow during their normal buisness hours and see where I get.

I've got a manual if you want I can probably get it copied or something. It's not really useful and doesn't even mention the model number. pm or e-mail me if they don't send you one. The machine has has had the shit run out of it at full power welding galvanized .188 fence for the last 6 or 7 years for installs w/ no 220 power. It's like the energizer bunny, I keep expecting it to die and it just keeps going....and going :)

It's looking alot better now that we have had it for a few months, cleaned it all up and just got all the parts needed for repair and putting it back together.
