OK i searched and found nuttin on the BB..

Any one done this.. I have been told that the doors are NOT part of the structural integrity of the Xj body...by more than one person..

The cage is in the works for end of this year maybe into next spring..and the chopped top..

I just would like to take the doors off for this summer til the the roof is cut...

do a search on JU, theres about a million threads about it. Just take the torx screws out then use a BFH to get out the pins.

Yep, concensus is the doors don't matter, the reasoning goes they don't matter because you can open the doors while fully flexed. By this same reasoning, the hatch does matter, cuz you cant open it while flexed. Judge for yourself. Obviously, the doors would add some strength in extreme situations, like a roll, but lots of people run without doors and I've never heard of any sagging or trouble putting the doors back on.
Are you still gonna do a convertible? I'm rooting for you, I want to do that one day.

92,

OH yeah I am going topless...A friend of Bellyups(acquaintance of mine)..has alot of backround on chopping tops...and we are already lining up the cage builder...I would like to do it myself but I dont have the tools to do the cage my self....(aka bender)...dont worry ... any future progression in this project will be posted.....

It was kinda my idea also about the doors..my doors have always opened up when fully flexed... oh and my hatch has opened too..!!!
