Is anyone running fox air shocks with samurai axles? If so how do they run on and offroad?

what would samauri axles have to do with running air shocks?
a few minutes searching will give you hours of reading
i havent gotton mine out yet but from what i gather if you run a higher oil level and a sway bar they are a nice setup

I have found lots in seaches with fox airs but they are all with axles swaps dana or toy and never the stock axle from what I have found. That is why I was curious as if anyone had this set up.

I am wondering about travel length with the stock axles if anyone was running them because the 18" travel shocks seems like a lot of travel for stock samurai axles. Or am I just smokin

well said axle has no say in how much travel you have it's the suspension that decides that not the axle the only thing you will notice is less travel with the shorter axle. But in my opinion stock axles are stupid to use if your spending that kind of cash put some real axles under it to...just my .02

Just like to do stuff you dont see out there all that much and If I get tired of it I will upgrade the axles since I will already have the shocks besides dont have the $$ for the axles yet. And I have lockers and such already. Thanks for the input.
don't foxes cost in teh area of like 750 a pop? king's are over a g-note each.
a sammi turd... priceless. really.
why not start with axles.. then bling?

I run them on the back of my 4Runner, Dana 60's... Pretty happy with them so far.
I run the early 14" version, more than enough travel for me, 18" seems more than I would really want.

Hoild on, you are gonna drop a grand on air shox but you don't have the money to do axles? Where are you going to get the money to build the links? We built out own 4-link a while back and had about 400-500 in DOM, insetrs, rod ends, and tabs. So you are looking at a 2000 suspension without comsumables or labor if you can't do it yourself. That is a lot of coin. Take it from me, the guy who put a 2000 suspension on stock axles.......... DON"T DO IT! Save until you can swap in some better axles and do the project ONE TIME

I have enough for one or another either the suspension up under the rig or buying the axles/ lockers/gears wich will cost about as much as getting the susp under the rig. So should I get the axles and wait another half a year to get them put under or get the susp on it now since I already have built stock axles?

you sound confused..... about 1/2 of your work to get a link suspension under your rig will go to waste when you swap axles. if you cant afford to do it all then save more til you can or go a different route. i have 12s in the rear mounted at about 45* leaning forward and 14s up front mounted nearly verticle and im limiting the amount of travel they have becasue i would rather have a predictable suspension than a slinky. unless your on wide axles and a big vehicle you shoudnt need any more than 14s

Maybe you should just start with the rear, 4 link it with the right axle and airshox. Then save up and do the front...

I agree.. Get the axles first, then link the bugger up. Hell, just slap a set of wranger springs under there and you will be amazed at how capable your rig can be without spending a fortune. The trail tough kit is great.
Linking with Samurai axles is a waste of time. You will end up like NC Zuk and Captain Ron, and everyone else I know that has done it. It is a waste of time and money.
As for the original question, I'd say the axle does matter as to what length shock you are going to use. The narrow Samurai axles will only leave so much room for the correct placement of shocks. Anything over 14" on a Samurai bodied rig is probably silly. Heck, can you flex out the 12" shocks you probably have under your rig now?
