Just bought a new house and it of course doesnt have a Garage :shaking:
I have had the Cosco $180 Garage before but dont know if they still sell them? I also flew like a kite in a good storm.
Can anyone recommend a temporary garage that can last (1) Year until I get something built?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
Congrats on the house. I know around here you can get the tent style at the local flea markets. If you have the room maybe build something semi permanent off the side of the house?

I used my bender to make frames out of 2" tube and bought some military surplus heavy canvas. It was meant to be a temporary gagrage but has been up for almost 3 years. The canvas has some kind of rubber/vinyl coating and is extremely strong. The footings are cemented into the ground and has withstood some pretty strong trade winds. I built for less than $200.00 and am now completeing a cement floor for it. Its become my shop and my real garage is free to house my family's cars.
Might be the way to go if you can get a hold of a bender.
There's always the "Fast Framer" kits which allow you to use straight cut 2x4's for everything. You combine up to 3 or 4 kits for any size you want, up to something like..........well, here's the link:

Looks like it tops out at 10x22, so that's kinda narrow but should be deep enough for a temp garage. Use tarps for walls to keep the cost down. The weight of the wood shouldn't blow away.

You could go with the same style that you had before. Cheap from Harbor Freight. I have a couple of buddies that used these while getting shops built.
Cheap Solution.

I'm bulding my buggy under a costco tent, works fine. I have about a 100' of para cord holding it down, along with 4 fence posts, we had some realy high wind few months back and it was fine(50-60mph) trees were falling down all around

Thank Ya Boys
got a costco tent in the side yard. I bolted the feet to the concrete and it hasnt moved in a few years, Its fairly windy here too. The only thing the wind has messed up is the door from being closed and the wind blowing it, the zippers ripped.

I used a Cover-it one for my ski boat for about 6 years. It was pretty sturdy and came with tornado anchors. I put 2 8ft flourescents and a couple of recepticles in it. I ended up selling my boat and getting rid of the garage, the cover was starting to wear through. If I would have kept the garage I would have bolted 1x4's to the framework and skinned it with sheet metal siding.
I've had my "temporary" Costco tent up for four years now.
Put the door on the leeward side of prevailing winds, undid the top corner of the opposite door and anchored into the ashphalt.Tied water filled 4liter milk jugs along both "walls" and it hasn't blown away yet.knock on wood .
Live on the coast too.Get some pretty crazy wind.
