Let's here it boys what'd you get done this weekend?

I fabbed the new rear upper shock bar, out of 3/8 no the less, with the holes moved in 2.5 inches per side. Fabbed the lower shock mounts out of 2" sq. tube.

Scored a Scout II ralley wheel from a 1980 Scout II at the junkyard, someone beat me to the T-case :(

Found my new pitman arm for a Jeep waggy.

Finished the pre-weld work on the new front spring mounts.

I'm still behind on the SOA project, but I'll make it by the eighth.

Friday night I POR-15'd the fenders.

Saturday I put the fenders back together, replaced the stripped wheel stud, trimmed the rear quarters.. mounted up the tires and everything and checked the oil, blah blah..

Then went out back and grabbed the spare axle shafts out of a spare housing "just in case".. :D

Then went wheelin' and didn't break anything.. and had a fun time playing with the new meats. :D :D

Now I have to sweep up the pile of metal chunks left in the shop... I left a lot of my Scout on the floor. :D

Saturday I went wheeling in the rain  . Truck worked GREAT, but I REALLY need to build my new front shaft... pulled it out twice.

Sunday, delivered NotQuiteSane's 800 to its storage yard... in the nice, clear (but cold) SUN

Got to love WA weather.... Also fired up my/my bro's Diesel Traveler and ran it around the block. Then got out the cleaners and went to work on some of the mold and crap. Started ripping up the soaked carpet, and fixed the latch on the rear hatch.....

BTW, anyone know were to get the clip that holds the rear, Traveler hatch Lock cylinder in?? Mines all rusted away...

Progressive weekend...

Hooper *Should* have pics today....

Got the York compressor mounted for OBA ... it was pretty hard to stay in the garage this weekend with unseasonable temps into the 70's. I just had to get out in the sunshine for a while.......

Wow.

We had our best blizzard in years.. and it was COLD and WINDY on Sunday wheelin'. I don't recall the daytime temps yesterday.. but it was below zero when I got home. ;-)

Lots of fun in a drafty soft-top - more so when your thermostat decides it's time to stick open. :D

SO IT WAS YOU~ Jeez Tom, I was enjoying mid-to-high 50s all weekend. I woke up this morning and the place is VERY cold and windy. Keep the crappy weather up north!

What did I get done. Finished the fine-tuning on the full-width 1/4 elliptic Scout II, started planning on the move to the new shop. If all goes well, We'll be into our new place by Wednesday.

Seattle had it first.. blame it on Rustoleum White.

I don't mind the weather.. made for an interesting trail ride.

Coulda done without the 50+ weather for the last couple weeks..made for solid ice under 4-6" of powder.. a little slick.

My weekend pretty much sucked ass...
Friday Night- Finished Tube fenders/ radiator Support for Jeff's Jeep (H8Monday)--well, I finshed the tube part anyway, he is doing the rest.

Sat- Went over to a coworkers house to help him figure out his bodylift...he finally brought me home at 1:00:( Drilled out new rear u-bolt plates and found out that the 5/8" hole that I used for the center pin was still too small. Had to borrow my buddy's 3/4" one. Helped my Roommate with his new shock tubes...then got cleaned up to go to a BBQ where we watched the Calrocs video again:) . Of course, when my roommate cleaned up his mess, he didn't shut the gate to the backyard. When I left that night, I put the dog out...got home at 12:30 and no dog in sight. Searched and put up flyers till 3:00 am:mad: and finally went to bed.

Sun- They finally found my dog around noon. Got him back and then started working on my Roommates tube fenders again. At about 4:00, I told him that I was through with his crap for the day and drilled out my u-bolt plates to the new center pin size. Installed them and then installed the 14 bolt carrier with the "Hobart" locker....that's it...not tube wor yet, no rear shock mounts...nothing really got done.

Went wheelin saturday morning, saturday night, and sunday morning, ran some new trails, several instances of body damage, tore up *almost* everything I had repaired over the last month,

It was a blast.

Oh yeah, my wife went with me for the first time. She walked most of the time, she had the camera but had a hard time taking photos between the mild heart attacks she was experiencing. She walked up after I went over one obstacle that a bunch of jeeps couldn't do and said, "Damn, I'm impressed, your old junkie scout is spankin the pretty jeeps":D

Reminds me.. when we go wheelin', there's sort of a "code" between us.

When I do something sufficiently stupid/brave/dangerous Michelle usually offers to "get out and take pictures"..

Which, of course, directly translates into, "I'm scared, let me out!" :D

Not a bad system.. she feels better outside of the Scout, and I get more pictures of me doing stupid stuff. :D

Repaired the throttle linkage to get by until it warms up a little. To cold to lay on the ground outside to remove the parts needed to build a cable setup. The high yesterday was 4 F. I did get the shock mounts fabbed but not mounted and didn't get to take the scout out to check the SOA. Had company on of those know it alls that doesn't know a thing but how to get in the way.

Some bitch, I welded the new lower shock mounts in place, attached the new upper shock bar, and the m-fing shocks hit the springs  So I guess I'm running the old ranchos mounted to the spring plates, with the top of the shock mounted to the new inner location on the shock bar. It appears that I'll have full travel, but the shocks are at a bad angle and are more or less along for the ride. I'll have to wait until after HH to fix the problem. For now I'll consider the rear done, and move onto the front this weekend.
