After a popular request for more pics of his rig, here it is. From what I hear its almost done. I likey!:skull:
:D :D Saweet! :D :D Makes me wish i had a tube bender and alot of spare time.
Looks like the track bar on the front pulls the axle over quite a bit on full droop like that is in the first pic (I assume full droop - since it is being held up by the rack).
arter all the hubbub thats it? :flipoff2: naw looks good.
i was considering using sandys diff cover cause they are trick but don't you think that a direct hit is gonna shatter that thing? anyhow it looks phat. slso what splines did you use? what about the front? did you use his wheel hubs up front?
GOAT1 02-25-2002, 08:58 AM Yeah, I had some concerns about the aluminum rear diff cover, but it's pretty thick though, I am eventually going to shave my rearend :) and incorporate some sort of steel skid plate to protect it. I am just running the standard, 1/2 ton front hubs and spindles for now, but Sandy has some hubs and spindles in the works for when I get my two-piece front axles done with 300M yokes. The rear is 35 spline because I had a Detroit locker, and wanted the option of running locking hubs for flat towing. I made some drive plates that bolt to Sandy's hubs that use a 1-ton locking hub, so I'll run the locking hubs in front and I am making drive gears for the rearend right now.
And yes the front end does move side to side in its full range of travel, about 2-3" at 15" of travel, but what panhard bar suspension doesn't move laterally.
Mieser 02-25-2002, 11:06 AM Looking sweet!
I like the way the entire jeep shell bolts on over everything. Nice touch!
later :jeep:
Like it, the sheetmetal gives you a lot better perspective. In the first pics, I was saying "Gee, hope he's got some taller rubber for that thing". But, with the body on, it puts it more in perspective :)

Po' riggity 02-25-2002, 12:19 PM Looks good, now when are you gonna get some real wheeling tires for that thing? :D
Just kidding.. I run the same tires.. but mines my daily driver, and it don't matter, my next set are gonna be TSL bias...

Thanks, I don't know how much it weighs, I havn't put it on scales yet, I would guess somewhere in the 3500 lb range. It has as stock TBI chevy 350 so it has what ever HP those are rated at, someday we'll put a hot motor in it, but need to spend my money getting it running first.
Ghetto Fab. 02-25-2002, 06:23 PM SIIIICKKKK!!! Doesn't look like the same old jeep I used to know! Now when is Dylan gonna get goin on his?

xBabyJesus 02-25-2002, 09:58 PM Are those scallops on the hood???????
davids78bronco 02-25-2002, 10:41 PM Can you tell me where you got those shocks? Website? Cost? I'm really likin those. How soon before you think you're ready for a test run?
Aggro 02-26-2002, 06:29 AM Probably just the pic, but the rear axle looks to be bent, possibly from the welding of the truss.

No the rearend's not bent, the angles of everything make it appear to be bent but it's not,
The shocks are Sway-A-Way RaceRunners, you can check out the web site at www.swayaway.com (http://www.swayaway.com)
And yes the old hood had scallops on it but the new glass will probably just be white.
I'll try to take some more pics tonight with some more details and of the body.
