welp!!! opps is the easyest way to put this.
i got a lil air while throwin the hammer down yesterday. i was tearing though my backyard and jumped off a decent size curb into the street. when i hit the groung BANG!!!! awwww sh#$!!!!!

well luckly i was like 50 ft from my garage to i limped home while the thing was bangin ad clanking and such. pulled the thing apart today and found that i chunked off several teeth on the ring gear in several spots and killed the pinion too couldnt see that far into it though.

so basicly im looking for options now.... im thinkin bout going 60 or 14 bolt because really theres nothing i can do to beef the r&p in this thing.

i just talked with john and he said fixxin it should be no biggie. so ill call randy's today and get a new r&p so i should be back on the road in a couple days i guess. or ill wait it will give me an excuse to leave the jeep in the garage and fix other broken stuff and get the cage installed.

there are so many things wrong with this post. i'll keep an eye out for you in the darwin awards.

seriously though, i don't think the go bigger thing is always the answer, in this instance, it was simply driving style. you can take a truck with a one ton drive train and stuff a tire under a rock and keep gassing it and it WILL break. you can jump a flat fender with 60s front and rear and it can bend the housing. you can shock load a big axle with a 4 cylinder enough and it will break. you can let a worn out u-joint take out your warn alloy axles while driving down a dirt road.

oh, and i work on a 4wheeling video crew and see this stuff all the time ( since cameras seem to make peoples right foots twitchy ):D you can break 60s on a sami, or run stock axles with 38s on a tj and do just fine over the same trail.

Ya'll do realize that this fool is running 38x14.5's right. hahaha you knew that 44 was nt gona last forever.

well im gonna start workin on the jeep this week. i gotta tear the dash down to get the cage ready to go in and i have to pull out the header and water pump to reweld it(the header).

Erika is comin down this weekend i think.... if its nice you guys want to come down and play around the garage with me for a lil while... maybe watch the video from last weekend?
