Met up with High 5 and Gunracer 1 at Clayton this weekend.
Pretty cool to get to know people through Pirate 4x4 and then to hook up with them and wheel!
We had a blast! Spent the AM with Brian (High 5) and then the afternoon with Mike (Gunracer 1)
Always great to meet POR posters and Get It Awn!
Proving once again that most posters on Pirate do more that Web wheel!
Enjoy

Actually there were over 30 tickets issued to people wheeling NORTH of Wildwood/K trail.
STAY OFF of you get a $155 ticket.
I ended up wheeling in the Honobia WMA on Sunday and drove 1-2 trails and saw some BEAUTIFUL scenery.
That picture was last month...this was Saturday...look familiar?
gunracer1 02-25-2002, 11:01 AM well i have to admit that i had a blast[except for that birfield thing] had more than a few guys off the board show up and wheel. the weather was great, cool and sunny. hell we had good food, beer, wheeling, and good people to wheel with. it was a blast, but i am still hungover a bit.

Put a sticker on, Hell I haven't even unloaded any of my junk yet, the scout is still on the trailer, all the camping shit is still in the back of the truck, front seat is still full of muddy clothes.
Maybe after sleeping all day at work today, and taking another little nap when I got home, and going to bed around 9:00 tonight, I'll get rested enough to start unpacking, but until then.....

gunracer1 02-26-2002, 08:26 AM hey nolen i got to look at the video last night. i see what you were talking about. it was just to slick to drive out of it. but i did get all my gear put up last night and returned the trailer to my friend.
paniolo 02-26-2002, 09:09 AM Cool pics! I wanna go :crybaby2:
You guys ran Rock Creek? I thought that was one of the closed ones? Are the closed trails posted?
gunracer1 02-26-2002, 09:26 AM yea its closed, thats where we ran into all the guys that had been ticketed. we talked with them for a couple of minutes and hauled ass out of there up rock creek[and once up the first stage] mike
Mechanos 02-26-2002, 09:30 AM do you know which trails are closed in Clayton? Upper/Lower Power Line, Snake Pit?
gunracer1 02-26-2002, 09:36 AM just stay on the south side of k line which is wildwood. you can't run 3 stage, rock creek, valintines, upper power line. i think that covers most of the off limits trails. i think the main thing to avoid is coming in by the charcoal plant, that is a perfect way to get a ticket.
High5 02-26-2002, 05:07 PM oh but if i would have stayed off of upper power line i would not have laid the heep over:D
Hayraker 02-26-2002, 06:15 PM I didn't get many pictures because my photographer was too busy having mild coronaries, but here are some from Jim & Juanita's and some from after the sunday run.

Hayraker 02-27-2002, 07:51 PM Yeah Blue, I tried to catch up with ya'll, I was there when ya went over the first tuff spot where all the jeeps were having trouble, we started getting in line after they finally got thru and some of my group had some problems *cough* birfield *cough*, so a couple rigs had to turn back to camp, so me and this itty bitty white zuk were going to continue and catch up to all of you, but right before he got to the hill he busted his transfer case mounts, so he had to head back,
After all of this I was about 15 minutes behind the group, so I decided to take it slow (especially since my wife was walking most of the way).
Then the group with the big rockwell toyota thing and about 5 jeeps came up behind so I let them pass after we went across the creek.
They went ahead of me about 500 feet, blocked the trail, and STARTED COOKING LUNCH:confused: , only 40 feet from the end of the trail.
So I sat there, letting my wife rest for a little while, when a Jeep and a Toyota came up who were also looking for our group, so I finished the day with them.
BTW, I dig your truck
High5 02-27-2002, 10:02 PM that big toyota makes a good winching point when you are on your side and trying to right yourself. ask me how i know:D
Hayraker 02-28-2002, 10:15 AM The guy in the Big Toyota was a really good guy, and so was the rest of his group, but they weren't drinkin any beer and I didn't want to travel that way:flipoff2:
Speakin of winchin Brian, thanks for the pull saturday night when I almost backed off the mountain.
