so i was lookin at these little combos that 4wpw has. the prob is im worried and sketchy about aluminum wheels. they say theyr rating is like 1900lbs per wheel. so if i blew a bead, my cruiser weighs way more than 1900 lbs, and if it was lening over on that lopside, then it would have prob 1900 or more on it?...right?
---ya, also, im a real bastard on wheels. so i know ill at least gash em up nice..but exactly how easy do thye bend?...whatever:rasta:

Alluminum will hold up just fine, but remember that they dont have the type of inner bead that of a steel wheel, and with bias ply tires, they will blow off the bead fairly easy when aired down. So if your gonna get alloy wheels, you'd better get them bead locked.

I'm not a big fan, but my application is not the same, I grew up with overloaded Land Cruisers in remote locations, where a bent or cracked alloy rim was a real bugger, so most people used steel. Even today, half a world away, I still have an aversion to alloys.
That said, I see a lot of ARCA rigs running alloy rims, so I'm sure some of them are pretty tough. Then again, those rigs are light!
Do your homework, find out how they stand up to abuse before you committ.
I was putting a 700R4in my rig tonight and I noticed the two back Aluminum wheels ( American Racing) were cracked over 60 % of their perimiter???
Iam putting the steel back on tomarrow.
Alum sucks.
Go check your s before your killed!

they also go on a trailer at the end of the day...you can run anything without worry when it's not what has to get you home at the end of the day.
