I have a front dana 44 out of a 79 waggy. I want to convert it to 5.5. Do I need to swap out the spindles or can I use the ones that are on there and use Ford hubs.

I will be swapping in dana 44 front and rear from a 79 waggy into a stretched 1964 CJ 5. It has a 4.3 liter Chevy TBI. SM 465. 35" ProComp tires. I broke the carrier in the OE 27 and the previous weekend I broke a rear DANA 44 axle shaft.

Thanks.

Search my friend, im doing the same swap, and i found tons of info on this site, and on the web. heres a good how-to, just click mods, and then click 6 to 5 lug.
