OK now this isnt for a Suburban but for an IHC 3/4 ton Travelall.

What I'm asking for is the Suburban people with 6" lifts and 35s that drive on the street alot and off road alot.

I'm building the shock mounts, arms and towers so regular eye ends on the shocks are maditory. Also the lift isnt in yet and mostly custom so I wont have shock measurements utill its done. I will be using 4 shocks per axel.

I'll be using my Travelall as a mild trail rig/tow rig until my next Scout is done.

The Travelall and Subuarbans are very comperable in size and weight so I would like sugestions on good shocks for this specific aplication. I will not buy another set of Pro-Craps so dont try and sell me on those. I'm looking at Skyjacker, Tough Country, Heckthorn and so on.

Thanks in advance.

4 shocks per axle?!! I've never heard of a pre-runner TravelAll.:D What makes you think you'll need 4 shocks per axle just for 35s on a low-speed-off-road-type rig (all TravelAlls, IMO)?

As to your question, my Rancho 9000s seem to handle my K10 (1/2 ton) alright, but struggle to keep my K20 under control with oem 3-leaf fronts and oem 3/4 ton rears beefed up with an extra leaf under the main leaf (no blocks). I'm not ready for great shocks till I lift the K20 using custom springs. My TravelAll is also not lifted and some cheap, gas Monroes handle the front ok and RS9000s handle the rear fine. Not great, though.

FWIW, I would spend some change on one, fully-bypassed, custom valved, King shock per wheel before I spent money on 4 shocks per wheel. Maybe PIG Black Cox shocks would also fit and do well on a lifted TravelAll shod with 35s. Lightweight, forged aluminum rims ($$$) would help, too.

Edit: I guess I'm saying that twin-tube shocks suck for heavy wheel/tire combos. Go with a quality mono-tube shock with a reservoir, if not also bypass tubes. 4 twin-tube shocks would likely be too unforgiving for the ride and 4 mono-tube shocks would likely be overkill for the ride and wallet.

He said 4 shocks per axle...which means 2 per side. Not all that outrageous

I run quads on the front and singles on the rear. factory setup. Running Superlift shocks that I got from their eBay clearance store. They work great - street/trail/occaional rock. I tried running singles up front, but the quad setup really tames the front end.

I run Hekethorns on mine and I like em just fine. My truck rides better now than it did at stock height with bilstiens. And I only run 4 shocks on the whole truck. But thats just my opinion.
