what would you do: put more money into the 4.2L or just drop in a v8?
I got a 4.2L with tfi ignition and almost all the parts together for junkyard efi swap. Would you:
A. just do efi and see how much it helps
B. do efi and 4.0 H.O. head
C. sell everything and do 5.2L magnum
D. Just do 4.0L head and keep it carbed.

? The bad thing about the 4.0L head is then it deals with the exaust and possibly new header and on and on..... $$$..

the 4.2L has 115k miles on it and likes to eat on when i rev it over 3k

I faced a similar situation but had only invested about $30 into a MC2100 vs. the efi stuff. Long story short, went with a 302 and have never looked back. Don't pick option D!

Would help to know a little more why you are interested...I did it for the run at any angle benfits and was going automagic at the same time.

Full engine swap won't be cheap, all of those little pieces and parts add up, plus required upgrades back through the rest of the drivetrain. Once done though, you'll be very happy.

ya it sucks on inclines but I just want more MPG and more power mainly. I got an ax-15 with B&M shifter. So I figured the 318 would bolt up with the 3.9L v6 bellhousing... and I looked at the wiring and understand it.
