: D60F interchange parts?

I'm building my 60 front, tired of breaking my 44.

But I've got pieces-n-parts all over, and I'm cheap. So I'm trying to make my pieces-n-parts fit. Since I've got a fair bit of machine shop equipment at my disposal, some of the weirder parts I might need, aren't a huge deal, but if I can buy something for $50, or take three hours to make it, it's worth just buying it.

What I'm looking for is wheel hubs, right now. Will Ford or Dodge wheel hubs fit my Chevy spindles? How about rear hubs off a rear 60, 14 bolt, 70, or other stuff? I know the locking hub part is going to be weird, but if I have to use a bolt-on-flange-drive-plate instead of a locking hub, I'm OK with that. It's a lot cheaper than a whole 60 front, and since the housing width isn't set yet, I can adjust it to fit the wheel flange location. Brakes aren't a problem, I'm already doing that custom anyway (converting to six-lug).

Scott.......
I have used the ford 60 wheel hubs a bunch in the past to do exactly what you want, all you need to do is make a .625 spacer to push the wheel hub out and you have plenty of room for your custom brakes, very simple:roxy:

.625 spacer where? Between the knuckle and spindle, between the wheel hub and rotor, between the wheel hub and wheel...?

The Chevy stuff I've got, bolts the spindle straight to the knuckle, then the rotor mount goes over (outboard of) that. No spacers.

I've heard from several people that with custom brakes I need a specific thickness spacer (0.625 isn't the only number that's come up) but either I'm looking at Dodge brakes on a Chevy axle (which is possible) for reference, or there's some serious confusion as to what needs spaced.

Incidentally, I'm planning on half ton (Chevy D44) brakes; I don't need a lot of room for 'em, and I can make the caliper mount to whatever spacing I need. It's just the wheel hub to spindle interface I'm worried about.

I'm using dodge outers on my chevy front d60. I'm using dodge wheel hubs, rotors, and calipers.
