First off who makes fender flairs for fj60s???
Second my roomate is going to attempt a spring over on his 84 FJ60 what he wants to know is... Do you need to rotate the 3rd member up?? If so how do you do this? Ive read the tech articals but no one explaines this... What do you do about the steering?? Do you have to cut it off and reweld it?
sorry for the newbie questions :rasta:

I know that Woody shows you how to cut and rotate your knuckles on his site.
Take another trip there and look a bit more carefully.
Steering can be handled either with a Y type steering arm or by going to Hy steer... Both are outlined on Woody's site.
Yes you want to rotate the pinion up. That is why you but and turn the knuckles to regain the proper caster...
And I think Specter has fenderflares for your 60..

this might be a stupid question but do you have to rotate the 3rd? cant you just do the spring over with out that....

I suppose that you could do the So without rotating the pinion but realy you should. I can see a lot of binding and driveshaft issues.
Personally I would cut and turn. it really is not that hard...
If you can weld you can cut and turn the knuckles on a LC..

On the 84 cuting and turning the knuckles is almost necessary. You could getaway with it but when the suspension cycles droping on the pass side the ujoint will bind. On my old 84 I had to do it cause of this problem. To bad its not an 86 those have a longer front shaft cause of the spacer where the 5 speed is supose to be (not there on USA versions). Cuting the knuckles is not rocket science but you do need to be acurate so it handles right. I have been using a fab tech crossover sterring arm that was 300$ sure makes your steering problem easy to solve just bolt it on! There are a lot of little things involved to be prepared!!!

Listen to Justin, if you want to do it *right*, you have to cut and turn the knuckles. I would also pass on the double knuckle arm and go hy-steer-style all the way, nothing like having all of your steering components above the springs and out of the rocks.

I would deffantly go hy-steer. I would have if this stuff was around when I did mine.
