I'm running a turbo 400 with an Advance Adapter to a D300 in a CJ7. I should be able to use the adapter to clock the T-case right, thats if the existing holes match up or have enough material to redrill holes? Anyone know if I'll have the same clearance issues with the front DS clearing the transmission pan as the 700R4 guys?

A TH400 pan is big. Depends on lift but plan on the driveshaft rubbing the pan at full bump if you clock t-case up.

The Jeep TH400 is clocked 4* from engine to trans. The D300 input/output offset is around 8.25". The stock CJ 1" driveshaft should clear without problems.
Any larger shaft clearance will depend on lift, pinion height/windage and bump stops.
I'm going the same direction but still collecting parts.

Thanks for the info......I'll just have to jump into it and see if I can get it to work.

I have the 700R4 and the D300 with the AA adapter. I have the D300 mounted like stock with the original drive shaft up front. My CJ7 only has a 1" body lift and a 3/8" schackel lift for now. The motor mounts for the 350 offsets the motor to the drivers side. Now let me tell you I cant get my little finger between the trans pan and the drive shaft. This is where Im at now. This is what I have found out for now. Tom Woods can make a front drive shaft with a smaller diamiter tube. It should give another 3/8" of clearance between the DS and trans pan. An Atla II will give you another 1" of clearance. If you clock the D300 it will move it away from the pan but bring it closer to the tranmision case. Im thinking of going with a 241C if I can get some mesurements, center of the imput shaft to the center of the front output shaft and compare to the D300. Good luck

If you plan on beating on it pass on the 1-inch driveshaft. It'll twist or bend. I'd rotate the 300 down and sacrifice some ground clearance to get a shaft that's at least 1 1/2 inches. With the TH400 it's gonna be pretty long.

Now I have seen one front driveshaft built out of what looked like an extra-large IFS half-shaft, but it had U-joints. Looked like a hardened solid bar with yokes. Could work but don't know who will make you one.

what about a 2 piece driveshaft? could that angle around the pan or is the frame to narrow? been awhile since i've looked under a jeep.:D

Just call Jesse and be done with it. He can build a 2 piece shaft that won't break, and you can snake it around the pan.

Sorry for the dumb question but who is Jesse?
