I just made a twin stick for my Scout D300 with a set of sticks from a D 18. :flipoff2: Currie.....
My question is when decelerating in 2 high it sometimes kicks out of gear. Has anyone else had this problem? I made sure the boot was not a factor by removing it. It does not do it in any other shift combination. I hate to think it is the shift rails.. Any help is appreciated.

Do a search :flipoff2:

Yes, people have had problems with this. I don't remember the suggestions on how to fix it, cuz mine doesn't do it.

I have an IH D20 that does this. I think its just the detent spring is worn.

The helical cut of the T/C gears puts a small thrust load on the gear, sounds like enough to overcome the detent spring. Or the detent on the shift rod is worn out. Of course, try the spring first.

I just installed the new AA HD rear output kit for my 300 and did the twin stick at the same time. Since no one has done this kit in a Scout 300 yet, I am hoping that its not this output shaft. I will probably put my original stick back in and see if it kicks out then? If it does I will do the spring thing...
Thanks for the replies.
