I've been looking at Scramblers on the net and I have yete to find one that sold for less than $5,000.. The paint/body work is "Shade Tree Chic". I did it here at the gin and sandblasted it down to bare metal, used bondo to fill in rust spots/holes and primer/paint/clear-coat. I've put probably $2,000 into it the last 12 months just replacing the starter, radiator, and getting the Carb woked on, paint, and upholstery, etc., etc. It also has the cast aluminum valve cover and this jeep has absolutely ZERO leaks! I bought it in 1996 and have had it ever since, it was restored from the ground up then, and no expenses were spared
Then I move to the Island and had it down there for three years and I had it on the surf probably (at Least) 150 days a year on the sand.
My intention was to take it back to the island and use it again, but now I don't want to see it rust up again, and I need a 4x4 Suburban so my wife and Kids can fit comfortably, my son is getting to that age where I won't be able to go without him..........It needs a new window frame, and the bed has some rust holes towards the tailgate. The bondo job isn't the best, I just filled in the holes after sandblasting. I'll get better pictures when I get home. I also "Pocked Up" the widshield when I sandblasted it, and you can see through to drive it, but I would replace the Windshield-hinges/windshield frame/and windshield.
I might see IF I can find a "before" Picture of it.
It had the Cancer pretty bad in the typical areas, adn the hole in the bed. The clock needs to be wired back up , the Tach doesn't work Odometer quit rolling, but the speedometer works, I have not driven it much since 2000 when I got it out of "Beach Service" From my understanding when I purchased it in Valley Mills in '97 or '98 it was "CHERRY". I think everything had been gone through, he had told me a Doctor out in Speegleville had bought it , and restored it for a hunting rig, adn hated to tear it up on his lease. So he sold it. I paid $7,500 And I was dumb enough to take it down the beach. I love fishing the surf and it was the only 4X4 I had (I'm sure you were 26 once). The compressor is still there but I pitched the A/C. I got on the net and found where you can buy a kit chep that goes in the factory spot, so I dumped the old one.
It has a spray in liner in the complete tub and underbody.
