how to access dana 300 shift forks?

id like to know the easiest/quickest way to gain access to the shift forks in my dana 300. one of the fork retaining set screws came out and i cant shift out of low range. id like to keep as much intact as possible.

quickest way is to pull the tcase and set it on a workbench

I agree, pull the case out and set her on the bench. Depending on which set screw came out, you may have to pull the intermediate gear

You should be able to pull the inspection plate and access both of the set screws with the t-case in the vehicle. Would be much easier on the bench though. All depends if you have a skid plate in the way or not.
