Yes, I did the search, but have no idea if the 1.3 superhargers still exist or not. If so, who has them? Are they still around 2500? I thought Calmini had them, but did'nt see them on their on-line catalog. Any help would be great.:smokin:

how much more power does the supercharger give you? I cant imagine spending 2500 on a supercharger for a sami. I paid way less than that for the hole car... :D

I've got under $1000 in my 1.6/2wd tracker tranny swap, I'd much rather do that again...

I agree, for all practical purposes, the 1.6 would be more cost affective, but to have a kick a$$ sammy turning 35's on the rocks, and still have plenty of power on the street, while still having the micro 1.3 would be ideal. There is nothing worse than having some jeep freak telling a group of people that an engine converson is necessary to turn anything lager than a 31, we all know that's BS, but I'd still like to keep the Samurai as close to a Samurai as possible.;)

Thanks rockbuggy, I checked camdensuperchargers.com and found all I needed.

down here in chile we have a guy with a german supercharger in his 1.3 ... and he dyno'd 108hp on the rear wheel...

in the sand-dunes (atacama dessert - like glamys multiplied by 10.000) he earned himself a good rep as V8 chaser :o)

i agree, a 1,6 - 2.0 would be better for torque reasons
take care,

I've got a camden blower going in on my 22r. I'll let you know how it runs.. Soon...

Camden bolts those little blowers on everything.. I mean the install instructions say it's fine for 98 to 400 ci motors.. talk about non-optomized...

Camden is now adkinsrotory. Nice, eh?

My buddy had a supercharger on his 88 sami with 4.56 gears and 32" meats. He was able to clip down the highway at 60 - 70 mph with ease. I imagine it would be really sweet on a 1.6 bottom end. Damn expensive tho IMHO. :flipoff2:

I've always thought that adapting a SC off a Ford T-bird or a Buick would be a fun/lowbuck project.

You know, with all the free time I have.

Yeah, and no real usable torque below 3k RPM or so... Warm up the credit card for those gears...

I dont know him but I see him on the con. That rig (or at least his current rig) is a red zuk based buggy that was in the mags a while back. It has all yankee drivetrian now though, 4.3 I believe.

I dont think the engine could handle more than 2-3psi of boost though.....That bottom end is very tiny, and it has an aluminum block....

But 3psi of boost on that thing, that would really change that motor:D

Well, here's the problem with the superchargers that Calmini USED to have from a company FORMERLY KNOWN AS Camden. They no longer sell the s/c because Camden no longer exists, I beleive they went bankrupt or something. At this point, no-one that I am aware of currently sells superchargers that work on the Suzuki engines. But, I do have people interested in making one for the 1.6 16v engine because of a higher interest level and application range, such as kicks, Esteems, and of course sammys with the engine from either.

Raven Rotrocraft, in Boulder is bolting turbo's onto 1.3's and 1.6's for aircraft use.

Check the specs (http://www.raven-rotor.com/html/specs.html)

I installed a Camden on Dewzuki's 1.3 about 6-7 years ago and that thing runs like a raped ape. He did have issues trying to get the Weber tuned right, but now it runs great (EFI would be a bonus). It was quicker off the line than the 2.8 V6 I had in my Zuk at that time.

I'll dig through some old boxes and see if I can come up with a photo or two. He does lurk here occasionally so maybe he'll post up a pic and tell you his impression. He got it used from the guy (kevin Hodges, I think) who's flaming Zuk graced the cover of Peterson's a few years back (he got it before the Zuk went up in smoke).

The Camden is a pretty nice little unit and installed real easy. They had different pulleys so you could up your boost. I think Dewzuki is pushing 5-6 PSI and hasn't had a problem after many years.

Avenger superchargers have been talking about building a manifold to install their smallest sized unit. One of the employees there is a fellow Zuker.

The manifold is the biggest problem to get by. I know Camden sold off most of their tooling, but don't know who ended up with the Zuk manifold tooling.
