After a little re-search, I found that its a Great Divide Expedition Edition. Is this thing worth fixing or should I just bugg-i-fy the whole thing.

Problems--

1. Power steering leaks all over.

2. EFI light on

3. Radiator Fawked from the front end hit.

4. Needs a RF quarter panel, hood, cowl, and maybe the core support.

5. Misc. plastic parts for the lights.

6. Grill smashed.

7. Grill guard bent.

It does have a 3" OME lift and some decent sized BFG muds.

I paid 1800.00 for it, and it does have a Salvage title.

Any comments appreciated. I have been doing research non stop, trying to learn as much as I can about these things.

Thanks.....mates!!

Beat it back int shape with a dead blow hammer, get a new radiator, fix the PS leak, and wheel it! Don't wast your money to make it pretty, and dont tear it apeart for a buggy. Just have fun with it. Oh and its not a Great Devide Edition. It does have the badge that commorates the expidition, but the only Great Devide Edition trucks (that had different wheels, perf leather seats, unique front bumper) were 1990 spec RR's that sold as 91 models.

He's right, not a great divide.
Not a great deal, but no Rover is really. If you like it, fine beat the snot out of it. Good news is finding another one for parts is not hard, and now you will know what they are worth and what you need. What year is it, does it have ABS?

1989...I am not positive, but I think it does have ABS because there are wires and 2 brakelines coming out of the front calipers.

Why does it have Great Divide emblems?? I guess its kinda like people who buy Z71 stickers for their regular Chevy trucks...no biggie.

I actually like the truck, but I feel like an ass working on it because I have no idea how to do it....i.e. how to loosen the belts to remove the water pump/fan.

I am a pretty good mechanic (on GM's) but this is new territory.

Can I post Wanted ads in the Rover Garage sale? i would post in the Wanted section, but it prolly doesnt get the Rover specific crowd like the sticky here will.

Even non-ABS RRs have two circuits going to the front brake calipers...my '83 does. Look for a big distribution block downstream of the master cyclinder where all of the brake lines originate.

Why does it have Great Divide emblems??

Probably for the same reason it has Discovery wheels on it.

Good, then you can fix this truck. It's engine is a bored-over Buick 215...one of the longest running V8's in production at the time. You should have no problem with repairs as there is nothing exotic on a Range Rover, except for the exotic electrical problems (for otherwise simplistic, conventional wiring).

Discovery wheels....

Kewl info....1 is messed up and now I know where to look for a replacement!! I think they look pretty good.

Where does everyone get replacement parts?? Autozone? Dealership?

One last thing (for now)... What is the best repair manual for this truck?

What I really need is a radiator...$$$$$$$$$$$

Thanks guys.....Rob

Pendy or PT Schram :D

I've got both a Haynes manual and a factory manual. Really, if you know your way around an engine/vehicle, all you should need them are the torque specifications.

There were a bunch of truck that had GDE logos etc on them as a way to commorate the event, and then later they actually came out with the Gread Divide Edition. The wheels you have are called "Castor". Oh and don't be too baffled about the belts, Other than the PS pump being of the most idiotic belt tensioning design, they are fairly strait forward.

You should consider naming it 'the step child' and beat the piss out of it.
