i just picked up my new dodge CTD.
it's a 3500 dually 5sp, 4x4, Pac brake, 4" straigh pipes, and some engine tweaking and only 140k. i'm really happy with the purchase and i can't wait to make it my own.
here are some pics...

the visor is comming of and 35 inch tires are going on. stacks will be a little later. i would like to paint it white someday too. can't wait to pull the buggy and a camper and not have to slow down for anything and get 17MPG :D

If you plan on towing for any long distances, I'd leave the visor on. It's not just for looks, it does serve a purpose. There's a reason why most road tractors have them. Also, are you planning to take it off road, or use it to tow? Contray to popular belief, the two don't exactly go hand in hand. If you do get new tires for it, make sure the rears are designed to be run in a dual application. A local boy put larger tires on his Super Duty dually and didn't pay any attention to whether or not the tires were made to run dual. They ended up overheating and blowing out while he was at speed on the interstate and it jack knifed on him. Just my .02

Congrats on the new truck. You'll like towing with it.

About the 35's... IMHO... keep 'em stock sized.

spacers are a pain between dual wheels and if you tow the studs and your loading ability is lessend by spacers and spacers will be needed to run 35's. what happens is in dual application the inside sidewalls touch when a load is pushing doan on the tires and this results in the heat that blows em out.

The best bet for towing and getting mileage with the 12v is 3.54's, a 5 or 6spd, 6 spd makes a world of diffence in heavy hauling and 235/85's or with the right wheels in the rear i have successfully run 285/75 16s and 255/75 16's all around but after those sizes the widths become too much to account for with most affordable wheel combinations.

Great truck though.

As to the Visor, it definately helps with the sun. but the jury is out, i had problems with my old ones they kept cracking and increased the in cab noise. my tractor one was made of steel the fiber glass doesnt seem to hold up, but the holes are already there.

Very nice truck, you're going to love that 12valve motor and the reliablility of it. I am with you in saying the visor has to go but other than that you got yourself a really nice truck.

Nice to see pics of Spokane :D It's been a while since I have been there, but I plan on moving back after getting out of the military.

Nice truck man. I love my 98 12V, I'm sure you'll love yours.

gotta love it!

thanks for all the replys. it should be fun. i'm thinking about 285/75s and just getting 3:73s i still want to be able to pull heavy loads but we'll see. i'm thinking about the Wildcounrty SXTs. what do you guys think about those? i've heard they are a hard rubber and they last a while and they have a good tread pattern for road and mild offroad.
