Ford Taurus fans work great. Look for the ones with the 3.8L engine.

Suppose'n you've already got the Taurus fan, but not entirely positive what Taurus it came out of.

Any tips on identifying the difference?

It will be a two speed fan. It will have three wires.

My 2 speed fan has more like 6 or 7 wires. In fact, all 3 of the ones I got out of the junkyard the other week have the 6 or so wires. If you do a search newbie you will find some pics.

my fans from taurus's with 3.8's have 3 wires and I pulled several last weekend.

I pulled one with the intention of going elec during the rebuild, but when I went to install it, it was about 1/2 too thick.
I am running the 3 core radiator and even if I cut the shroud as thin as possible, the fan motor and blades were still over 4" thick.
The only thing i can think of is the body is shifted back slightly after the Urethane mount change?

I might need to loosen them all then hit the brakes hard!!! :D
Not sure if anyone else has run into the same problem.

Crap...come to think of it, I just gave the dang fan away when I moved!!
OH well there are more taurus out there.
