hey guys im new to the chevy board, and i have a small question, all help is much appreciated...ive got a 94 S10 with a 2.2L, my question is can i swap an early 4.3L into it? will the frame/crossmembers handle it? it is going to be tweaked a little bit, but not too much. ive got fairly good fab skills, so swap kits aren't my problem. also, ive got the 4L60 trans in there now, will this bolt up and withstand the 4.3? if not, which trans is a good idea for what year 4.3's? i also have plans on giving the trans a manual valve body or a stall converter along with a shift kit. if you cant answer these questions are there any other boards or web pages i can get my questions answered? hey thanks a $hitload guys.

I'm sure the frame would be the same as one that came with a 4.3
I don't think the bellhousing bolt pattern would be the same from the 4cyl. to the v6. The 4.3 will take the same bellhousing as a v8.

If your engine/wiring harness/computor are for a computor controlled trans. you want to stay with that. If not, you would want a 700R4

This is to the best of my knowledge. I could be wrong, or there could be exceptions.

Sounds about right... The only thing I can't confirm or deny is the tranny info.
