I am in the process of choosing a clutch for my '77 F250 4x4 460, np435 build up. I have ruled out the stock clutch because of the kind of abuse I plan on giving the truck. I feel I will need some extra holding power. I don't want to replace the clutch every few thousand miles either. At the moment I am considering two setups from Ram cluthches. One is their powergrip series, 98769 with a kevlar disc, and stock plate pressure (in terms of its static pressure). The other setup is the 300 series organic disc (306M) with the 406 series pressure plate. This setup has a higher static pressure to obtain its holding power. Supposedly it has a smoother release than the powergrip series.
Any recommendations??
If there is anything else out there that is as good, and less than $300, and $360 (respectivley) please let me know!!

What would happen if I was to mix the kevlar disc with the 406 pressure plate???

Thanks

Tony

I have heard a lot of bad things about ram clutches, like incurable chatter and rapid wear, however I have not used one personaly
I am running a luk clutch with a hays flywheel right now and so far, after two years it has worked great (no noise, no slipping and a softer peddle than stock)
P.S.
All of this may be moot however because I have a 351w and not a 460
