I just build a nice set of shock hoops for my YJ. Now I need to find a good set of shock that will extend out to 40in. The shocks are 31in when its just sitting. Any help would be cool. :flipoff2:

Typically you would measure your suspensions travel, find out which shock you'll need with the right amount of travel, then find out how much of that travel is compression/droop and make your mounts accordingly. With your measurements it looks like you have 9" of droop which would make 9"-11" of compression with the mounts you have made

If there is a 40" travel shock it'll have about 18"-20" of travel (just a guess, I've never seen or hear of anything like that).

Is this going on the rig in your sig? Seems a bit excessive.

I may have two used ranchos. They are longer than 5012's. I will take measurments tonight when I get home.

Hell I've got 14"s and I think they are a tad to long... Only time I would run anything longer than 12" would be with coilovers

Edelbrock has a 16" travel reservoir with a 37" extended length. The new website is up and it has a length and control chart for all the resi's.

Edelbrock Resi/Non Resi lengths (http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/shocks/universal_offroad-1.shtml)

:mad3: 1.You're an idiot for not knowing what shocks/length you're going to use before your make your mounts.

:mad3: 2. You're an idiot. Learn English, not that broken up, butchered shit above.

:mad3: 3. You're an idiot. P&T is right when he said that people like you drive away the people who actually make PBB great.

:mad3: 4. You're an idiot for not thanking anyone who replied to your dumb ass post with a stupid ass question on a topic that could have been covered by a simple search.

And finally shame on me for replying to your stupid ass question and actually trying to help someone as useless as you. I would suggest that you lurk, search, ask questions in the appropriate forums, or you can go sit in the corner and fist yourself.

Damn, can't believe I just waisted all this time typing over this idiot... :shaking:
