Ive got an 89 S10 Blazer, with the electronic speedo sensor on the back of the T-case. Does anyone have any diagnostic info or tech info about these sensors? I found out that they put out an AC voltage based on speed, but I want to know a bit more about it. What is the range of voltages put out by the sensor? Does the voltage vary linearally or exponentially with speed? Thanks if anyone can help! :D :D

I couldn't find anything in my manuals on this but I know speed sensors are linear.Your voltage is proportional to speed, inverse to the motor. Basically a d/c motor running backwards. Try this formula voltage=K x omega. K = the constant of the motor in voltseconds.
To run the speed sensor exponentially would be cost prohibitive because the computer would have to be more complex in order to decipher algebra. I hope this makes sense aand helps.
