: good price on long shocks?
Brandon 02-26-2002, 09:14 AM Looks like I could use some longer shocks than what I have on my jeep/toy thing
Haven't bought shocks in ages, before I just go plop down $80 ea for 9012's anybody know where I can save some $$?
ProComp's come in a 13" travel version - $30 each most places :)
Brandon 02-26-2002, 09:33 AM how do they compare lengthwise to a 9012? I stole the shocks from my truck to put on the jeep, so I need to bolt on something to the truck where a 9012 was
I'll go check the shock chart in the tech section right now :)
someone got specs on those - price sounds right :)Rugged Trail-Nitro/60K 51000/61000 32.70 19.05 2.38 EB1 EB1 13.65

Thanks!
I wonder - are they softer or stiffer than a 5000 rancho?
borton 02-26-2002, 09:44 AM get some bilstein's, talk to Bob Roggy on prices, 5100 series with up to 14" travel.

Gas shocks right? Hmm
The ProComp ES3000's are supposed to be the same as RS5000's - but I thin kthe ProComps are softer...
I can measure the ones I have tonight when I get home for an "Actual" travel measurement if you like..
woody 02-26-2002, 10:06 AM I just ordered Doetsch Tech DT-3000's thru Summit Racing for under $30 each delivered...and they make a 13.75"+ travel shock. Pretty soft valving. Only bad about ordering thru Summit is they don't stock em, so you wait a couple weeks. But the price is right!

I ran a set of those ont he front of my Toy for about a week - WAY too soft for my uses...
IMHO - DT's work good with stiffer springs, but with soft springs the DT shocks are just WAY scary

If anything I want it stiff, which is why I am still debating the 9000's - springs are waaaay soft and I wanna drive my jeep on the road :)
Lance 02-26-2002, 10:23 AM talk to Bob about the Bilsteins. When I get new shocks, I will be replacing my 9000's with them.
Brandon 02-26-2002, 10:26 AM will do, I am a cheap ass but gas shocks might help the thing look a little more level and would probably ride better
MattS 02-26-2002, 10:28 AM I got mine from AOR
5100-Series, 14.3" travel 34.9" extended; 20.75 collapsed
$69 :D

Brandon 02-26-2002, 10:30 AM what did ya have before, could ya tell the difference - $69 is good but $30 is better but then again apples n oranges..
MattS 02-26-2002, 10:33 AM My junk is still in the garage. :( The shocks are on though!! :D

Mine too he he
(well not the shock part)
BlueJeep 02-26-2002, 12:42 PM I love my Doetsch Tech 3000 shocks from summit. They were around $30 each and work great. I've had them for five years (2 sets) and run them with Skyjacker 2" springs. They ride great, work great, and are cheap.
RHINO 02-26-2002, 02:47 PM i just bought a set of DT's, 36" extended for $30 ea. at my local 4x shop, yes there soft i like it that way,
but for $3 more you could get DT pre runners which are stiffer and still 36" extended length.
Yuracrack 02-26-2002, 08:05 PM try hotrod-offroad.com for cheap 9000s.
they're listing all 9000s for $59 ea on special.
just bought four myself.

Hayraker 02-27-2002, 02:20 PM Napa Gas Grande 60
Steve Sommer 02-27-2002, 04:42 PM I bought my DT Pre Runners 2 years ago from Summit for 33.00. They're not in the catalog but if you ask they'll drop ship them. Only took a few days. My brother got a set the same way just a few weeks ago.
