Hey guys we have opened an offroad park south of kansas city by about an hour about a year and a half ago. We are now working with the kansas city missouri parks and rec trying to develop a place here in town for people to play. Their main concern has been motorcycles and atv's but we have been attending plannning meetings and hope to have something to play on as well.

What I am after is the city wants to see examples of simular endeavours by the state or local govt. My main goal for this project is to establish a play arear with rocks and other obstacles and the trail portion, if posible, would be a simple drive through the woods. Pretty lame but that is my goal for this project right now. I would like some guidence for examples because I am not sure what has been done already. I was thinking of truck haven or hollister hills would be a good example. Does anyone have some good info on those areas?

Thanks for any assisistance, jake

Call Tom at Carolina Driveline.
Contact info available at: http://www.carolinadriveline.com/
He is currently building a real nice rock crawl in an old city fairground in Spartanburg SC. He may be able to help prevent you from having to reinvent the wheel so to speak on every issue.

i could be wrong, but isn't tuttle creek orv park government owned?
it could be a place to get some info.
kanrocks is privately owned land, maybe the county, land owners & local business owners (gas stations, restaurants & hotels)would have some positive input to pass on.
i'd like to see something closer than kanrocks myself, even if it was just trails.
just a place to go play for awhile after work & on week-ends.

maybe a petition on local boards to give to the city/county/state officials.
something to ponder,(for them)...currently unused land could become
"pay per visit"property, thus creating revenue for the city in entry fees, taxes,
local business increase,ie gas/food/beer?.
which could later grow into something bigger. who knows.
stay after it,i'd help feed a local orv park.alot of primo land around here just waiting.
just my .02 :D
