Didnt do much.... (waiting/trying to find some new springs & pick up my new tire). I did pull apart a Chebby D44 I picked up for 8 lug outer stuff for an eventual conversion
Made a cool discovery though.
Went to a garage sale & paid $10 for some brand new diamond plate that went to post 88 Chebby SWB pickup.....
It fit very well on my Scout 80 (after a little trimming).
Covers a nice giant rust hole...
Pix to follow....

Well I thought I was going to have baby #4 and boy #4 on Saturday but it was a false alarm. Had a yard sale instead. Put my AR 15, .338 and mossberg 590 out for sale just for kicks and sold them all for a cool 1800 bucks so my project is back on at least the finishing touches. I'm gonna regear the Dana 70 to 4.56, buy my spacers so I can install my hummer wheels up front, put in my tera low case and install bushwacker cutout flares all the way around. I did some test fitting and it looks like the flares off a 88 to 98 chevy should fit pretty well. They did in back but I'm not sure about up front. Then I'll buy my a new .338 and an AR chambered in .25 WSSM.

i almost finished my half doors, after hours and days of wire brushing about 1/8-1/4 inch thick bondo all over both doors
i kid you not. there was atleast an 1/8 - 1/4 in of bondo all over the outside of the both doors, i just need to drill out the bondo holes and weld them shut, and make some cross bracing for the doors and cap them, and i will be good... nothing to get in my way for looking at rocks
ordered my klune on friday and getting my np 205 back together setting up for a twin stick, almost won, one on ebay but bastards went in at last second.. :mad3:
schools almost out so now everyday is going to be a weekend :cool2: :cool2:
owell thats it for me,

Didn't do anything Scout related, haven't got my tube yet. Checked in on some friends building their Heeps and worked on mine, did a little research on the 1 link suspension, made many trips to stores for the 242 project on the bike in the rain. Gettin some wheelspin on the bike is kinda fun, but I don't care for the gettin wet part.

Wow, looks really nice.
Wait a minute... Is that a milk crate for a seat?? Is that allowed by the sanctioning body? :D

Wow, looks really nice.
Thanks. Still need to add a stripe to the rear quarter, put the marker lights and tail lights back in, and start applying the logos.. :D

I don't think it says anything about "no milk crate seats", though the current lack of harnesses would DQ me. :D
They ARE pretty light.. maybe I should keep the milk-crate seat?
A buddy loaned me a pair of Beards that are going in this week.

A lot of wrenching, but nothing Scout related, other than setting other parts on the frame that were in my way.
Spent Saturday pulling the 460 out of my sons Bronco that died a terrible death. He didnt think that a little mud would hurt...in the carb!
The old block is out and all fot eh external parts are cleaned up. I hope to assemble this week and drop it in after that.

Drank a lot of beer all weekend.
This week:
Wire lights
Make switch panel
re-spool cable and check cable integrity
Fluid check
put stickers over the dents

FREE STUFF - I wish I could find free stuff :flipoff2:
that's a great deal.
All I did this weekend was find yummy mushrooms.
I got several kinds to play with. Morrel, boletes, and a Hydnum.
never tried the hydnum before - looking forward to it. :D

Installed a couple Auto meter gauges but forgot and left it in reverse. Cut grass and went to move Scout to cut grass underneath and drove through the cinderblock wall of my lawn/storage building. Got some brick work to do next weekend. I will try to post some pics soon. Does that count as wheelin......?

I've never quite understood this fascination with fungus... I've helped guys bag up a bunch of Morrels, de-bug them and mix up the "Super Secret Batter" recipe (all the while watching them drool all over themselves in wild anticipation of cooking up the fungi). After biting into them, the poor saps got stiff in the pants and needed a towel to clean up afterwards. I tried them too, but just don't seem to see what they find so mouth-watering about them.
From my experience, the end result was not worth all the effort to get there. Maybe I'm just missing the "Morrels are yummy" taste bud genes.

Work on my deck between the rain drops and trips to the store(s). Made good progress, concidering.
Closest Scout work I got done was a finally picked up my brake parts for my "new" DD-ish truck. Didn't really do anything with them... yet. I did mount my new rotors up and get the thing off the ground (ie put wheel hubs back on an put tires back on it). Still got to get a carb kit to rebuild the carb, but did pull the old one apart and start cleaning it.
I guess I did also bring home the seats I'm going to mount in it...
If I finish the fireplace mantel I can have my side of the garage back.. so I worked on that a little.
Oh, and when to Costco and restocked the freezer with steak.... so we had a nice nice flank steak Satureday... mmmmmm.
Gett'n close on some projects, so I can get wheeling again soon!!
oh, Tom, truck looks gooooood now. Best I have ever seen it look. Looks like you followed my suggestions.... now I got a big head. But atleast (most) of the lime green is gone, and the satin looks gooood.
Now just keep it "clean" and don't roll it :D:D

actually - I have never tried them - I will be eating them tonight. I have enjoyed pretty much every mushroom I have tried so far. I am still new to the sport of hunting fungi. :D

nice floorboard, congrats on the kiddo, and rig looks nice.
Ok, now that that's outa the way ;)
Let's see, dropped the 5.0 into the scout 80. Wouldn't fit with the accessories on the front so I pulled them. Wouldn't fit with the manifolds so I pulled them. Fits, neat just can't run manifolds or any accessories ;)
Next step is to cut out the front crossmember and put in a new one at the very front. Stared at where I am going to mount the suspension and mocked stuff up. Kind of a waste of time really.
Pulled the rear axle back into the garage and cut off the last set of spring perches. My son (Scout) actually said "dad let's go work on the scout" like 3 times. Very cool :) Of course work is slow with him around but more fun :)
I'm hunting to see how people mounted their 44044's on 80's (RS)

There were a few spots it was difficult to get to while spraying. The only significant lime green spots are the firewall on both sides. I'll try to hit it with some spray cans soon.
I even put a cowl-plate back on it again for the first time in years. :D
Ritch - thanks. :D Memorial Day I'll get some more pictures and video. Even have another camera to try out for the in-Scout video this time.. though Shadow man has a pretty nice "demonstration" going on in his picture. :D

Yep, I really like the one with all four tires in the air. I don't mean flopped over either.

I had my two tool boxes stolen out of the back of my truck when I ran into the store for a second :mad3: :mad3: so I am completely tool-less now. also had some special tools in there, hub sockets, O2 sensor socket, 9/16 wrench bent to get at IH head pipe bolts, etc...
What is wrong with society?! there were two FULL 5 gallon gas cans sitting there too. The cock sucker didnt touch those, just my beat up boxes full of miss matched, odd ball tools. if I ever catch this guy I'm gonna beat him with my 1/2 breaker.

Damn Dan, sorry to hear it. Good thing you 1/2 breaker is still at my house with the crawler stuff. I can't stand the type of piss-ant of a person who would steal someone else's tools.
Nice to see ya online again.
