: Can someon identify this for me?

This is probably a stupid question but what is this?
I am not really a jeep guy but my roomate and I are putting an engine into his 78 cherokee chief and we came across this in the parts truck.
Our only guess is that it has something to do with cruise control but we are not sure. It is made by Dana.

Looks like that's the speed sensor for cruise control. I had something similar in my Scout.
