Whats the secret to removing the studs from the exhaust manifolds? I got the bright idea to replace the ones in my "new-to-me" ramshorn and the buggers wont budge. And now, from my twisting with the vice grips, the threads are beyond repair. Lamme...
I heated them, sprayed with liquid wrench, repeated. let soak overnight. Banged them a tad with the hammer to opefully loosen the rust. Still they don't want to budge.
Ideas anyone?
thanks!

You could also try some "Knock-er Loose" by CRC Products. Great stuff. What about a head bolt puller. Used em' in the Army for those stubborn bolts on HMMWV's.
Best of luck,

Screwed in. And if you use the stud remover, be sure to torque it from the base of the stud so the stud doesn't break from too much torque too far up the stud from the manifold.
No need to ask me how I know this.:D

After you snap them off, you can get them out by welding a nut onto the end. The key is heating the stud up to red hot and letting it cool a bit because it loosens the rust and shrings the stud slightly.
