: large backspacing wheels?

I'm finally picking up my 1.5 ton running gear, but it's going to be 67-69" wide. I'd like to run a "shallow" wheel and recover some of this width.

15" rims on chevy D60 calipers, how much of a bitch is it to clear 4" backspacing? 4.5"? more?

Can you even grind enough to clear 4.5" backspacing?

run 16.5 hummer rims with the beadlocks, clears the caliper fine, and gives you 7" of backspacing, and is beadlocked on the inside and outside beads....

I was thinking that, but then I have to buy new tires... also, do they interfere with hi-steer arms?

4 wheel drive parts whole sale has 8 lug 15x10 with 2.5 in back spaceing for 60-70 buck each and I know they cleared my friends front 60 no problem

Do not grind calipers. I did this and the same day both D 60 calipers busted in half when I hit the brakes. Buy the 2.5 backspacing 89 blazer is talking about.

You are full of sheet. Or else you did a really BAD job of grinding.

This is done all the time without any ill effects.
