I have a 88 Mustang 5.0 installed in my Wrangler with a Powermaster alternator. I am putting an Explorer 5.0 into this week (I blew up the mustang motor) and was wondering if the alternator will swap over. Also, does anyone have a belt routing pic of the explorer 5.0?

Thanks,

Ken

Anyone have an answer? Looks like I will be swapping over the bracketry from the mustang.

I'm sorry

what year explorer motor, if it has a 3g alt, your WAY better off using that..

Infact, a hand crank generator would be better than a powermaster..

5.0L explorers used a 4G which is not as good as the 3G.

also the explorer motor is about 1.5" shorter than the mustang so the brackets aren't gonna work unless you swap the timing cover/water pump/damper etc. If you do swap out the explorer stuff I want it ;)
