Have an '01 Cummins 24 Valve 4x4. Just bought a FASS II fuel system for it. I have it all mounted up with wiring and fuel lines zipped tied in place, all I have to do is plug into the tank with the fuel line and route it to the filter and plug in the elec. connections.

Question is, how do I get the old fuel line quick disconnect off the top of the tank, I tried the Kragen plastic sleeve things and no help. I want to keep the stock line in tack so in the event of a failure I can plum back the stock system to limp around until I get it fixed. But how do I do this?

Thanks,
John

It should come off with the right tool, you can buy it at any parts store. Sometimes they take a little fussing with inorder to get the little fingers in side to release. but it doesn't sound like your doing anything wrong, just keep working at it

Just put a FASS on my 01 CTD last week. Just have to pinch the 2 sides and pull. Took me about 15min to get it off. The real problem was getting the FASS line back on in its place. That took 30 min at least. Ended up having to cut off stock clip because the FASS fitting wouldnt slide over it. That was by far the hardest part of the install for me. Doing it over again i could do it in 1/4 the time. Good luck!
