i have a 79 gmc high sierra with the np203 partimed tcase.it currently has no 4wd capability, i was goin down the road one day and heard a big boom almost like the case exploded i pulled over checked it out and nothing was visualy wrong with the case. but the next time i went off roadn i got flippin stuck cuz its not engaging. the case was rebuilt last august and the part time kit was installed at the same time at the local trans shop. when i lock the hubs and drive in 2wd it sounds like a fn fire truck siren! at 30 mph. the front driveshaft spins when the shifter is in 4wd but it sounds likethe chain clicks every 1/4 inch or so? has any one had this problem before or know what is wrong with this boat anchor of a tcase? i'd like 2 get it fixed b4 the muddin season. thanx :confused: :confused: :shaking:

Broken chain? Pull the drain plug and see what goodies come out.

Do a search of the Pirate database, and Google the web-as I recall, I read more than one piece about the part-time kits grenading regularly.

if i pulled the rear support plate off the front driveshaft input shaft would it hurt anything, this way i could see the chain if its screwed up
