What driveshaft u-joints to use in my XJ with hp44/9" & Rock Trac t-case?

The 241 Rubicon t-case takes 1330 u-joints, my current XJ driveshaft u-joints I was using were 1310's and I don't really want to get new driveshafts for my hp44/9" swap. Is it a good idea to stay with 1310's and make the d.s. u-joint the weak link rather than busting an axle shaft? I have a 4.0L straight 6 with a auto tranny, 241 rock-trac and 5.38 gears, 4340 Yukon alloy shafts and detroit in the hp44 and 35 spline Yukon shafts, detroit, 5.43 gears in the axles in the 9". What do you guys think? Do driveshaft u-joints usually take out the entire driveshaft when they break like a axle u-joint does? I'm going to be running 37x12.50x15" MTRs.

the 5.43 gears will allow a smaller driveshaft u-joint since there won't be as much strain on it (since the torque at the wheel is approx 5 times more than at the driveshaft). I think they sell 1310-330 adapter u-joints. Most driveshaft u-joint failures I've seen are due to binding and they didn't take the driveshaft yoke with it.

You'll break your axle u-joint long before the drive shaft u-joint

Yeah, there's an adapter joint you can buy that has two ears @ 1330 size and two @ 1310 size. I've seen them at Napa before but there's probably a generic Spicer number for it too.

A guy I know runs D60's front and rear, 38's, 4:1, NV4500, 4.0 motor, and 5.13 axle gearing with 1310 joints and he breaks rear D60 shafts. Never a driveshaft u-joint.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I think I'll just get that adapter joint instead of changing out the t-case yoke.

The hp44 joint is going to be different from the 9" joint. Make sure you mention the 9" when ordering the joints
