im going to be doing a sas in my 94 chevy 3/4ton. i know about the kit from ORU but dont want to spend $800 on some brackets. i was wanting to do the swap myself by making all the stuff myself. is it worth it to just by the kit? Has anyone here made thier own stuff or done it themself? I kinda wanna run like a 73-87 6" spring or sumthin easy to find like that. i have a hp44 from 79 f-250 that im gonna run so thats one problem solved. any help would be awesome

Wether it's worth it or not is based on how are your fab skills. If you have good fabrication skills, i.e. you can put down some good strong welds and make parts that are uniform, you can do it yourself. I've got lots of friends that have built theyre own spring and shackle hangers in their driveway. If you have any doubts about your skills, then the kit may be the way to go.

fabbing the parts is no prob.i was just wondering how they fabbed the parts and what they used i.e. springs, steering, shackles. also wondering how they mounted the hangers and where on the frame they put them. just wanting differnt ideas on if its easy to do yourself and how others have done it.
