Ive got this ford pitman arm I found, I believe its from an F250/350 etc. Its pretty damn long and flat. I got to thinking.... hey maybe I could heat this up and make a drop pitman arm out of it... Good idea or will the heat do bad things???

Heat and bend bad. Dropped pitman arms are only like $50, come awn, dont go cheap on steering.

BAD!!

buy a drop arm - your life is worth more than the $75 bucks you'd be saving.....

The metal will get brittle and break like glass.

Dude,
Pitman arms are typically a forged part, if it's heated & bent you're taking your life into your own hands
