I know you can run a older HEI dist. in a 4.2L, but can the same be used in me 4.7L stroker? (It has a 4.0L block).

ya as long as you're not using the 4.0's fuel injection. They come with their own electronic distributor. Should be cool on a cabred I6. I did the big ford cap, 45k volt MSD blaster 3 coil, 8.5mm wires on mine. Easier than HEI.
