So here's some pics of a brake I just completed. 2x2x.250 and assorted 1" thick steel with a $60 harbor freight 20ton ram with a 20" wide capacity

It bends 3/16x 2" steel effortlessly, I have not really used it besides just testing it out last night; which worked awesome. Way better than a hammer and a vice :D

where did you get or make the dies? If you made them how much would you want for a set?

I made them out of 1"x 2" material. The bottoms are cut at 30* while the top die is cut at 56*. It takes me a while cause I only have a manual mill. I dunno, $150 plus material.

You had to have a reason for building the press. What are you planning to fabricate with it?

Nothing in particular, just brackets I have been making over the past years with a hammer and a vise that piss me off cause they look like shiat. I have a pretty nice shop that caters to close friends that is starting to turn into a business on the side. WestCoastFabWorks may be a financial reality someday.
