I've got an 87 Toyota 4x4 I recently purchased, it's bone stock aside from 31" M/T's, it's a 22R with a freshly rebuilt head, and 5-speed transmission. This thing is SLOW, my buddies 84 Yota will literally run off and leave mine. It has new spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, and I've check the timing. Anyone else that would make it slow? About 65 mph on the interstate is all it will do, so I'm getting passed left and right by other vehicles.
thanks

sounds pretty typical for a stock yota on 31's.
if you didn't physically rebuild your engine yourself, then you need to do a compression check to see if the motor is healty, if you have good compression, check the camshaft timing, this involves pulling the valve cover, your cam or crank gear could be off a tooth
just out of curiosity, did you replace the plugs and wires with OEM yota parts, if they came from autozone, you need to return them and get real ones from a dealership
