: sas steering?
JeepDriver 05-21-2005, 02:19 PM well, next on my 91 sas will be to think about the steering, i'm using a bj60 front diff s.o.a,
anybody got ideas or what has worked and what hasn't worked. trying to do this on the Cheap!, no bolt on stuff for me, more of the booty fab stuff. it's basically justa trail rig now.
pics would be sweet.
thanks
Pinkstonmm 05-22-2005, 08:36 AM Any pictures of your axle under the trooper and where is is going to be positioned? High steer is always nice if you can run it withough binding. I switched to a scout steering box so I could run high steer as well as push my axle forward and keep it from binding.
RodeoRob 05-27-2005, 09:42 AM This is kinda a vague question... you haven't given us much to go on....
You can choose to go with tie rod ends or spherical rods ends (heim joints) depending on your preference, neither option is really cheaper than the other. But you'll wanna make sure you have the correct rod ends for the steering arms you are using... stock arms are usually tapers for TRE's while aftermarket arms can be ordered either way. placement of the tie rod and drag link pretty much depends on what you have room for, again, something you'll have to answer... many options exist. beyond thats, its just a matter of buying the parts and putting them together, so i'm not sure exactly what sort of advice you are seeking?
be more clear and you'll get better answers.
