i am pulling my wifes blazer motor and tranney ( 4.3 4L60 ) and my friend gave me two 241HD case's, i will be running rockwells axles with of course 6.72 final drive. my questions is it will be around 55 to 1 then i factor in the T/C, so is this to much crawl for runing in the rocks.

i mostly wheel paragon and will be going outwest ( someday ), tires will be 42'' to 44'' but for now i have a set of 40'' MTR's ( they where free ). i do have a two wheel drive 700r and a divorced 205 i could run and my crawl will be around 40 to 1 so whats do think would work better, thanks and i did search, jason.

my crawl ratio is 78 to one, and I like it, I would even go lower if Icould for the rocks, but I DD mine so I need to keep it somewhat reasonable

i would want a larger crawl like said before. for those specs you said i would want a lot more. i would hope of atleast 150:1

Run the 700 converted to run a doubler and the 205. Best of both worlds and by your numbers 80-1 +t/c. That will turn those big dogs in the rocks

i did not want to spend the money on a doubler if i did not have to, i just figure use what i have, so my choices are 4L60 to 241 down to the rockwells or 700r divorced 205 to the rockwells.

when you guys are talking ratios in the or over the 100 to 1 range are you guys/girls factoring the T/C, i am talking about numbers based on gear on gear and not talking about how the T/C will all most double my current numbers, jason.

the guys talking over 100 are running sticks, not autos. what youve got will be good, possibly a little low but good

I was 56:1 (pre converter calculations) and loved it. That was with a Jeep 4.0 Only on a few occasions did I want a little more gear. It will have decent downhill compression and good wheel speed.

currupt4130 i know it will be low and thats good but i am afraid i wont have any bump with out over reving the 4.3, do you know if theres a revirse valve body made for the 4L60.

i know theres one made for the 700r and the 4L60 is the cousin but with it being eletronicly shifted does the RVB work in a 4L60, jason.

My truck is at 123:1, with a stick.
in first gear, double low, it's pretty much useless, However, my truck isn't a rock crawler, so I really can't comment much.

But you have to remember, your tranny has a 4 forward gears.. there is no reason you can't just run 2nd or 3rd gear to get wheelspeed.
