: What springs should I run?

I am currently running my stock CJ springs plus 2.25" lift shackles on my SOA'd 74 CJ5. I just picked up a full width d44 front and Ford 8.8" rear this weekend, the front is setup for ram assist steering, 4.56's and locked front and rear. I'm now wondering if I should go to YJ springs or something else since I'm already going to have to outboard the hangers or should I just stick with the stock leafs? I just want to do this once and the right way.

If you're thinking of switching springs just know that the 54-75 cj5 and 6 have 1-3/4" springs measuring 19-7/8 x 19-78 (front) and 23 x 23 (rear) while the yj has 2-1/2" wide springs measuring 22-11/16 x 22-11/16 front and rear

Call Alcan springs...

So running the wider YJ springs should help I'm guessing since they're more durable and stronger. I'm not concerned with the lengths since I'm already having to outboard the hangers I can measure them to work with the length of the YJ leaf's, how much should I look to spend on a set?

You'll probably be spending around 400 for all 4 spring stacks

Alcan customizes spring packs for weight= front and rear.
Custom lengths etc. But, they are expensive. They are guaranteed.
How much $$ are you gonna spend?

Well I'm trying to keep everything reasonably in my budget but I could probably do the RE 1.5" packs.

Just a question, I just checked and RE has 5 and 6 leaf configurations, what would work best of the two? I want to be able to flex and not have it too stiff.

I have done 2 CJ's with the 5 leaf up front and 2 with the 6 leaf (both 401's). If you are running a straight 6 or v8, I would use the 6 leaf at both ends. Otherwise use the 5 leaf.
